SMALL WORLDS (2010)
Christian Haas schuf die auf 50 Sets limitierten Glasobjekte ‘no sweet without sweat‘ und ‘wisdom is a good companion‘. Er gab den Handwerkstechniken der Theresienthaler Glasmacher, Schleifer, Glasmaler und Graveure neuen Ausdruck. Der Fleiß der Bienen steht sinnbildlich für die harte Arbeit der Glashandwerker - die Weisheit der Eule und der Käfig stehen für Kreativität und Disziplin des Designers. Erst deren Zusammenspiel erlaubt es, wirklich Gutes zu Schaffen.
Christian Haas designed and developed the series SMALL WORLDS, which are limited to 50 sets each. He gave to the craftsmen of Theresienthal a new way of expressing their art. The bees’ diligence refer to the craftsmen’s hard work - the owl’s wisdom and the cage stand for the designer’s creativity and his discipline. The well-balanced combination of these aspects is the precondition for providing such extraordinary things.
