KÜRBISFLASCHE

Die KÜRBISFLASCHE ist ein Stück Glasgeschichte und ein Beispiel für den Einfallsreichtum der Glasmacher im 19. Jahrhundert. Seinen Ursprung hat die Flasche in der Zeit des Historismus. Die Flasche wird in eine mehrteilige, schwere Bronzeform eingeblasen. Durch die Lücken in der Form wird das Glas beim Einblasen hindurchgedrückt; die Rundungen sind also frei von der einströmenden Luft geformt, was der Flasche eine besondere Lebendigkeit verleiht.

The KUERBISFLASCHE represents a special part of Theresienthal’s history: glass components formed by hand feature typical 19th century craftwork. Extraordinary is also the form in which the bottle gets blown in: a heavy, segmented mould of bronze with integrated gaps; during the blow-in process the hot glass extrudes through the gaps and shapes the unique form.
